⟡ february wrapped ⟡
latest and greatest from the month of love
welcome back! i’m a bit late to the game for february, short month filled with tons of work and commitments. i hope february was kind to you.
i don’t have much to share, but i have a bit so here we go!
the mind of God - bradley l. sickler [what cognitive science does (and does not) tell us about faith, human nature and the divine.] — finally finished this one, and i just wanted to provide some further insight. those of us that know that Lord, know that we are image bearers, everything about our design is a reflection of Him. this is important to remember, because often times people think religion ≠ science, and that couldn’t be further from the truth. Yahweh is a God of science too, the thing is that not everything is science. not everything can be proved through hypothesizing, trials and errors. there is some whimsy to this world, and that is because we are more than this physical being, more than this physical world. sickler argues against the scientific notions that our brains and it’s functions— thoughts and experiences, are all just brain activity. the brain is mass, it is physical but the mind and consciousness can’t be fully reduced to neurons. humans have rationality, morality and a self-awareness that simply point beyond purely biological explanations. one of my favorite parts of the book is sickler arguing against how researchers believe that through time and evolution, people have developed a need for a belief system, which in turn introduced religion into societies. but even if humans have a predisposition to believing in God, it doesn’t mean that the belief is false. our minds were designed to recognize God. was a very good read, i have many more in this realm to read and study. there will be more to come. :)
the holy BIBLE — read: ecclesiastes, leviticus, psalms 25-40 — leviticus is roughhhh, i am still kinda getting through it with my family but, wow. it’s rough. it makes me think about just how tough it must have been for God to try to shape His people, creating a form and normalcy of how to come before Him. it’s extremely repetitive, but i get it. we really only learn something by doing it over and over again, being instructed over and over again.
publications:
a. maybe it's cool to be emptied God can make something out of nothing - serene
phenomenal writer, she has such an anointing in sharing the words the Lord gives her. below is a little piece from the article that i have been thinking about so much.
“ The beauty of God is that he’s not burdened by our expectations. He doesn’t work in our timelines. And His work isn’t dependent on what we bring to the table. He’s the God who makes something out of nothing.
Man from dust.
Beauty from ashes.
Water from wine.
Life from death.
Something from nothing. ”
b. What Flickers Is Not What Lasts the difference between being charmed and being cherished - victoria cardona
a beautiful piece on cherishing in action, how cherishing remains and charm only sparks. i love victoria’s writing and her insight, there is such conviction behind the words she publishes and shares with us.
c. Who Is This Man? A Walk Through the Cross and His Return - ashlee camille
a captivating poem about Christ that genuinely brings me to tears every time i read it.
i didn't really watch anything this month worth talking about, so no television.
two things i have had on replay most of the month:
touch of heaven — hillsong worship (from the there is more album)
because truly, all i want is to live within His love
be undone by who He is
my desire is to know Him deeper
out of sheol — stughkato (album)
i love rock music (and all the subgenres born from rock), and this duo really has taken the cake for me. i love love love everything, they sing and scream about Christ and i am praying they release new music soon.
i haven’t finished a roll, i know i will in march but for now, i will share some old shots from a trip to dominican republic. i have shared some of these, i just have been missing home a bit. i pray i get to visit again soon.

i just want to express how good the Lord is, He is even better than we can think or imagine. His kindness is immeasurable and is worthy of acknowledgment, praise and adoration. all i want is to look more like Him, speak more like Him, and act more like Him. The Lord deserves all the glory. I pray to never leave His side for the rest of my days.
God bless you all, i am so grateful for any of you who take the time to read these words and interact with me.
until next time <3
